Kèr Stièvwaj (Stièv /waʤ/ [camera] [recession]) is a subtropical Town located in the Meaavea Region of the Tetbur Commune.

The name Kèr Stièvwaj is derived from the Tauric language, as Kèr Stièvwaj was founded by Stalk Beetles Griffith, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Kèr Stièvwaj has a yearly average temperature of 29°C (84°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 33°C (91°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 26°C (78°F). Kèr Stièvwaj receives an average of 276 cm/y (108 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Kèr Stièvwaj covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3664 m (12020 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Kèr Stièvwaj was founded durring the early 9th century, by Stalk Beetles Griffith. The establishment of Kèr Stièvwaj was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Stalk Beetles Griffith electing to pay people to resettle in Kèr Stièvwaj.

Kèr Stièvwaj was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 9th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kèr Stièvwaj is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Kèr Stièvwaj is buildings are speckled and packed arround crampt paverstone streets with seemingly no patern to them. It appears as if the town's residents simply built streets as they pleased and squeazed buildings in wherever and howeave rpossible, creating an organic, frustrating to navigate, maze of a town. The town is protected by a well-crafted cobblestone fence tall enough to provide adiquite cover for defenders to fire from, but no more than that. The town's frontieer-style defences have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

A look around Kèr Stièvwaj gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable. This all rests atop the unmistakable impression the town is one of the strictest places imaginable. Everyone’s actions are clearly directed by laws they keep in heart and mind at all times. Orderly byond order is a phrase which Kèr Stièvwaj brings to mind.

Kèr Stièvwaj's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used which employed abundant symbolic geometry, using pure forms such as the circle and square, and plans are based on often symmetrical layouts featuring rectangular courtyards and halls. These structures were is decorated with carved stone or stucco reliefs and made use of colorful stone mosaics..

Due to the actions of local Kami, winter is long in Kèr Stièvwaj.

Kèr Stièvwaj's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves creating small tokens to channel Abjuration energies of tier 1 via divine sermons.

History

Kèr Stièvwaj is in secret rebellion against their ostensible liege, having cut deals with his enemies, plotted to betray him for their own gain, or bridled under his tyranny and sought a better lord. The community’s leadership is all in on this plot, and outside viceroys or representatives are being kept carefully ignorant of the reality. The common folk may be oblivious to the truth, though they’ll doubtless have felt the same motivations and promptings that convinced their leaders to turn traitor.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century after an anomalously snowy winter, runoff from snow-melt caused Mere Dana to overflow its banks and spill into Stream Indigo. The resulting flood was isolated to the area around Kèr Stièvwaj, which was swallowed by the waters for several days. Kèr Stièvwaj lost 298 people, 110 livestock, and 39 buildings in the disaster. The disaster is remembered as the Torment Drownings.
